Hronir LLC

What we do

Hronir LLC builds iOS applications, with a focus on data organization — tools for structuring, searching, and keeping track of information that would otherwise pile up.

We work on a small number of things at a time, from first sketch through release and the long maintenance tail that follows it.

• iOS applications

  Native iPhone and iPad applications written in Swift, built to current platform conventions and distributed through the App Store.

• Data organization

  Structuring, searching, and retrieving information — the part of an application that decides whether it is still useful after a thousand entries.

• Durability

  Plain, exportable formats and offline-first behaviour, so that what you put in stays yours and stays readable.

Approach

Software tends to accumulate. We would rather it didn't. Our preference is for fewer dependencies, smaller binaries, plainer data formats, and interfaces that can be understood without a tour.

The name comes from Borges — an hrön is a duplicated object, a thing that exists because someone expected to find it. It seemed like a reasonable description of what software is.
